be found in the beginning of our CVC
words
in this lesson we are going to learn
about a third sound
what crazy I know
this is another digraph
do you remember what a Digraph is
it is two letters that make one sound
this Digraph is CK and is our third k
sound
CK can be found at the end of a closed
syllable word after a short vowel sound
so just remember when those two letters
combine together it makes
and is only found in the final position
you will never find it in the beginning
if at the end of a one-syllable word you
hear
you might use k or ck
so how do you know which one to use I

protect them

now we're going to meet protector C
protector C is there to protect the weak
vowels from Monster K protector C acts
as a shield so monster K can't get that
weak vowel
protector C is like a superhero and like
all heroes protector C needs his sleep
sleep is very important when does
protector C get his rest
if the vowel has a letter friend next to
it protector C can go take a snooze
because now monster K can't get the
vowel the new letter friend can be the
protector now
